as slurs, ties, staccatos, and hooks.

Intermediate Orchestra

-effectively demonstrate all beginning techniques
·
-effectively demonstrate all beginning written
theory.
·
-perform extensions
·
-read, notation and play dotted rhythms, 16ths,
and syncopations.
After completing semester 2 students will be able to…
·
-play in 6/8 time.
·
-play and notate key signatures for AM, B flat
Major, E flat Major, d minor, and g minor scales.
·
-perform a solo or ensemble work for the class.
Advanced Orchestra
After completing semester 1 students will be able to…
·
-effectively demonstrate all beginning and
intermediate playing techniques.
·
-effectively demonstrates all beginning and
intermediate written theory.
·
-demonstrate a knowledge of shifting.
·
-demonstrate a knowledge of vibrato.
·
-tune their instruments with only the pitch A
given.

-play two octave scales.

-notate and play all minor scales.
